Yesterday marked three years since we made the move out of the Big Smoke to our Project Home on the Prairie. Our retired ex-Sydney neighbours were right when they said it would take three years or so before we felt at home. I’ve always been a home-body and I love getting home from anywhere, no matter where ‘home’ actually is at the time. However, I’ve now developed some great friendships here which have really given me a connection that hasn’t been there until recently. That’s not to say I don’t miss my Sydney life – good friends and family nearby, shops, general convenience etc – but I’m no longer feeling like I could easily take my bat and ball and go back.
And to mark the occasion the toilet tap seal broke and we woke at 2am to a gushing water leak.
