Oh my. The guilt.. and the liberation.

I can’t believe I haven’t been on yet to talk about MY IKEA VISIT!! A very productive, (and expensive), trip indeed. However, I came  home with the bathroom cabinet I’d been lusting over for the main bathroom. Also bought Lincoln a white bookcase for his room. I relocated the old birch veneer ones to the good loungeroom where they will live out the rest of their days holding books and CDs until I can replace them with real furniture. I couldn’t believe my luck when I found the ideal curtians for our new bedroom colour scheme. I doubled back, pulled out the paint colour chips, blinked, checked again, purchased. With the excess hemming I can trim off I’ll sew up some cushion covers to accessorise with the new bedlinen. Yes, NEW bedlinen. Mum bought us Latte coloured sheets for christmas, and yesterday I was in a Target Country and found the exact coloured quilt cover I was needed to finish the room off. On sale. Purchased. You can see the before shot on Flickr, but here is the after.

Bedroom After

No curtains visible in this shot because they’re not up yet. I’ll try to get those up on the weekend. Need some more art now. Must cruise Etsy when the bank balance has recovered.

All this shopping, redecorating, and reorganising has been a good distraction as this week was Lincoln’s first time at daycare. I was nervous about how we’d manage the breastfeeding relationship as expressing just hasn’t worked. However, he’s been happy to take formula and breastfeed without any dramas so far. He had a wonderful day today, apparently. Giggling and smiling all day, had two big sleeps – just like he does at home, and I even got there in time to do his afternoon tea breastfeed.

Yesterday, Fraser asked to go and visit his baby brother and he came back to the preschool room with a big smile on his face. I’m so happy they’re in together. It takes the edge off the guilt.

Before I start back at work I must use my two days a week to fit in a visit to the dentist, and i wouldn’t mind a recreational trip to Spotlight or Lincraft. I’m feeling a crafty sewing bug coming on.
