Before I get into today’s naturopath session allow me to share a couple of quotes with you.
From Emily Post circa 1922: “Manners are a sensitive awareness of the feelings of others. If you have that awareness, you have good manners, no matter what fork you use.”
This was actually quoted in the Sunday Telegraph’s ‘Sunday’ magazine yesterday as part of an article about modern day manners. The concept of teaching manners to Fraser is important to me but I’ve lacked a good response to anyone that might question the purpose. ‘Because it’s good manners’ doesn’t really cut it. So there you have it. :)
The other quote is an extract from my stars (Aries) in the Sun Herald’s ‘Sunday life’ magazine. Also from yesterday. “The backdrop to all your activities is a kind of inner sureness – where you take a cooler, more measured approach to all your affairs.” I definitely feel this is where I’ve been in the past couple of weeks and it’s why I’m feeling my mental energy returning.
The inspiration is coming back as is a certain positivity about things. It’s like a letting go of trying to control it all but still having a clear desire for a particular outcome.
I expressed some of this to Stephen today and he was glad to hear that I’ve come a long way from where I was. He stamped my hand as a reward. I do still have some work to do. My 3pm slump needs to be resolved so if I can catch a 10 minute nap on the couch then do so. But ideally I need to get beyond it so that I’m no longer feeling the need for a nana nap. I.Must.Eat. ..Frequently throughout the day, that is. Breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner. I find it very easy to ignore the hunger but I must start listening to it. I should clarify at this point that I’m not dieting or anything like that. It’s simply that I often find myself too preoccupied or busy to stop and make something to eat.
I also came away today with another couple of herbal helpers.
This is my herb schedule:-
St Johns Wort – 1 tab 3x a day
Blackmore’s PMT – 1 tab per day
White Chasteberry (aka Vitex) – 1 tab 3x a day
Valerian – 4 tabs before bed
Red Raspberry leaf tea – 3 cups a day
I’ve not made any further appointments with Stephen. I’ll see him again in about a month’s time to make sure all is well but otherwise I’ll keep going with this new regime. If we reach the end of 14months TTC then I’ll enquire about tests via the GP. Fingers crossed.
