3 cheers for EMLA patches. They deliver lidocaine to the skin in preparation for a needle injection or blood-draw. I put one on each of Fraser’s arms before we left home this morning. He obviously didn’t feel any pain as it took 2 goes to find the vein and he didn’t cry at all. He squirmed a bit in protest at being held for so long but I was so surprised that he didn’t fight it at all. I’d had flashbacks to his 8 week immunisations. :|
