Getting more kicking now.. seems to be concentrated around late afternoon, early evening. Matt still hasnt felt it yet.
Thinking we should order our baby hammock soon as Dr F said that 26w was our next milestone. At 26w there is a “real baby”. I think he just meant that if we go into premature labour there’s a greater chance of survival from 26w. But I guess if the baby did come so early it would be spending a couple of months in hospital so maybe we dont need the hammock so soon.
I’ve picked up the “Welcome Baby” cross stitch again. Hopefully finish that before we get too close to EDD.
I just bought a couple of books from Amazon in preparation for my ‘new job’ as a (ohmigod) … parent. “Emily Post’s The Gift of Good Manners: A Parent’s Guide to Raising Respectful, Kind, Considerate Children” and “Saving Dinner: The Menus, Recipes, and Shopping Lists to Bring Your Family Back to the Table”. The latter is mainly for my own benefit. I have such a limited cooking repertoire that a book full of easy, quick, inexpensive meals would be extremely useful. The first book was one I saw mentioned on Dr Phil a while ago. When my kid asks why he should keep his elbows off the table I want to be able to give him a better answer than “because I said so”. I certainly don’t claim to be Miss Manners either so I’m sure it’ll be useful reference material to have at hand.
I’m really looking forward to my incarnation as a SAHM (stay at home mum). Might be tough to get used to – the no independent income and willy nilly spending. No humourous work colleagues around. Managing the basic logisitics of going anywhere with a child. But at least I’ll be able to get into my Flylady routines. Frankly, I’ll be glad to have any sort of routine after working shift work for so many years. Sure, I’ll be on call 24×7 but at least I dont have to go somewhere..and if I do anything stupid or embarassing at least its not people I see every day that are going to witness it. Much happier making a fool of myself at home than at work..even a busy shopping centre would be more acceptable to me – and who says that hasnt happened before. ;)
